New Program Being Offered that Will Teach Children to Trust Their Intuitions and Become Aware of the Lures that Adults May Use to Abduct Them.
Teaching children to trust their intuitions and to become aware of the lures that adults may use to abduct and/or assault them, is the focus of a new program being offered by Paul McCoy of McCoys Action Karate and his teaching team. Paul has recently been licensed to present the Journey of the Steal-Proof Master, a fantasy-based abduction prevention program for children and their parents that was created by Adventures in Safety (AIS), LLC of Glastonbury, CT. McCoy's Action Karate will be offering a free one-hour Steal-Proof Master seminar at both of its schools in Auburn and Spencer MA in March.
February 13, 2004--During the presentation McCoys Action Karate will teach children and parents about the ten evil warriors, characters that represent the most common behaviors of child predators. McCoys Action Karates teaching team will encourage children to talk with their parents and/or guardians when anything that another adult does or says makes them feel uncomfortable. The children will participate in role-playing and discussions, leading them to understand and anticipate the potential dangers of interactions with strangers as well as friends and family members who might mean them harm.
The Steal-Proof Master presentation is a community service offered by McCoys Action Karate and is part of an international movement that seeks to overcome what AISs founder, Richard Kohler, sees as the desensitization of children to ordinary safety materials and programs. We believe that our program, which engages children because its fantasy-based and empowering, provides them with critical knowledge to help ensure their safety, says Kohler. If theyre engaged, theyre learning. When they learn the lessons of the Journey of the Steal-Proof Master, theyre safer. Its that simple.
Please call for presentation dates and time, and to reserve a space for the Journey of the Steal-Proof Master program at McCoy's Action Karate Auburn and Spencer MA. To arrange for McCoy's Action Karate to bring the program to your community group, school (K 4) or facility, please contact Anne McCoy at 508.832.4110.
